Lake Fayetteville Nature Trail

Lake Fayettville Enhancement Flyer.docx

Hey everyone,

Ozark Off Road Cyclists and Progressive Trail Design have been volunteering their time to re-route portions of Lake Fayetteville nature trail that have serious erosion problems and/or are an ongoing maintenance issue. If you've been out there lately you may have noticed that the section north of the Environmental Study Center was completed this winter. The straight shot up the hill through the pines has been re-routed into a series of switchbacks and the old route has been blocked off with brush and logs. The switchbacks greatly reduce erosion on the trail which in turn, greatly reduces maintenance. They are continuing their efforts on other portions of the trail in the upcoming weeks. I've attached a flyer for planned work days led by OORC and PTD if anyone is interested in helping them out. Please pass the word onto anyone who might be interested and/or enjoys using the trails out there.

cheers!
